Yesterday, President Trump announced that gasoline mixed with 15 percent ethanol, E-15, will be sold year-round. Previously, sales of E-15 were banned in most states annually between June 1 and September 15, which includes the country’s busiest driving months.
Below is a statement by South Dakota Farm Bureau President Scott VanderWal regarding the E15 announcement:
“We commend the Administration for understanding the importance of increasing market access for agricultural products. The best way out of the current poor ag economy is to find new markets and expand existing ones. Allowing year-round sales of E-15 will have a dual benefit by increasing consumer choices at the pump and expanding the market for corn, which in turn boosts revenue for South Dakota’s corn farmers and the state’s economic viability.”
