South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) members from across the state took part in SDFB Day at the Capitol on Feb. 9-10, 2026. More than 50 members of SDFB, representing 31 South Dakota counties, traveled to Pierre to champion the agriculture industry to our state legislature.
“South Dakota Farm Bureau’s members set the policy direction for the organization and having our members from all over the state at the capitol for SDFB Day was very impactful and important,” said Krystil Smit, SDFB Chief Executive Officer. “Participants had the opportunity to talk personally with their local legislators about policy priorities and also see the legislative process at work.”
SDFB Day at the Capitol activities included county and board level meetings, an update from the Public Utilities Commission, and media training. SDFB members also hosted Governor Larry Rhoden and state lawmakers for a Legislative Social on Monday evening.
