South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) will be hosting two informational meetings to highlight the new Weaned Calf Risk Protection insurance option for livestock producers. 

Weaned Calf Risk Protection is a new insurance option for livestock producers in four states offered by USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA).

South Dakota is one of the four states able to offer this pilot program. The informational meetings will provide details to help livestock owners make decisions surrounding the new option.

Cody McCann, a Risk Management Specialist for USDA will be at the two events to provide more information. Lunch will be provided.

 The meetings will take place:
  · December 6 – 11:30 a.m. MT at the Wall Community Center, 501
 Main St, Wall, S.D.
  · December 7 – 11:30 a.m. CST – Mitchell Technical College,
 Technology Center Amphitheater, 1800 E Spruce, Mitchell, S.D.
