Secretary Perdue Will Serve as a Strong Voice for America's Agriculture Industry

The confirmation of Sonny Perdue to the position of Secretary of Agriculture is drawing loud support from South Dakota Farm Bureau. SDFB President Scott VanderWal, who also serves as Vice President for the American Farm Bureau says with Perdue’s confirmation, action for agriculture in the new Administration can now begin.
“We want to offer our congratulations to Secretary Perdue,” said VanderWal. “He will be the strong voice our industry needs and we look forward to working with him.”
Perdue, a former Georgia governor was the final cabinet member nomination by President Donald Trump just before he was sworn in as President of the United States.
The 70 year old is a longtime rural businessman who originally trained as a veterinarian. Perdue served as Governor of Georgia while Zippy Duvall, current president of American Farm Bureau, served as Georgia Farm Bureau President.
