South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) President Scott VanderWal issued the following statement after the Trump Administration announced plans to extend billions of dollars in aid to farmers negatively affected by tariffs. The administration says the plan will offer much-needed support to farmers caught up in trade disputes.
"The trade disruptions are obviously hurting the ag industry here at home and across the United States,” said Scott VanderWal, SDFB President. “Farm and ranch families would rather have open markets than a government program, but when that isn’t an option, we appreciate the Administration’s effort to provide some temporary relief.”
