South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) will be part of the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo (BHSS) taking place at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center and Central States Fairgrounds Jan. 29 – Feb. 6, 2021 in Rapid City.

New in 2021, SDFB is sponsoring the Ag Adventure Zone as a special project of the South Dakota FFA Foundation. Located in the Ice Arena, the Ag Adventure Zone will feature interactive and educational exhibits as well as presentations by industry speakers.

“South Dakota Farm Bureau is pleased to be back at the Stock Show to tell the Farm Bureau story with visitors as well as reconnect with friends,” said Lowell Mesman, South Dakota Farm Bureau. “The show is also a great time to talk about the policy priorities we are working on and how membership gives you a chance to share your voice on issues important to you.”

As part of SDFB’s sponsorship of the Ag Adventure Zone, SDFB will be hosting a speaker on the event stage on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. MT. Ken Charfauros of Wall Meats will discuss “The Importance of Local Meat Processing.”

Livestock shows and sales, professional rodeos and a trade show are just a few of the other events on tap at the event that draws close to 300,000 attendees during the ten-day show.

SDFB will be in LaCroix Hall at the Civic Center in booths 17 and 18. The SDFB Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee (YF&R) will be selling raffle tickets for two guns: a Ruger 1022 American Farmer Edition and Stevens 555 20GA. The winner receives both guns.

The rifle drawing will take place at the SDFB Annual Convention, November 19-20, 2021.

A special event at BHSS is a Rancher Appreciation Social, sponsored by the Pennington/Jackson, Meade/Ziebach and Butte/Harding/Lawrence County Farm Bureaus, which takes place on Monday, Feb. 1. For tickets, stop by the SDFB booth at BHSS.
