Two South Dakota legislators were honored by South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) for their leadership and vision at the organization’s 104th Annual Convention held recently in Sioux Falls.
Sen. Gary Cammack, Union Center, and Rep. Rocky Blare, Ideal, were recognized by SDFB for their efforts in passing Senate Bill 87 during the 2021 South Dakota Legislative Session that allowed SDFB to offer health care coverage to members.
“Health care coverage is a critical need for many rural South Dakotans,” said Scott VanderWal, SDFB President. “Under the leadership of Cammack and Blare, this legislation received overwhelming support and allows SDFB to provide options for uninsured South Dakotans and/or those who do not qualify for ACA incentives.”
South Dakota Farm Bureau Health Plans started receiving applications for coverage on Oct. 1. Any South Dakotan who is or becomes a member of SDFB can be considered for the health care coverage and can apply online at www.LiveWellSD.com. Applicants to date are saving between 35 and 50 percent off of their current health care coverage.
