South Dakota Farm Bureau Kicks Off Ag Week at the Ronald McDonald House
Farm and ranch families of South Dakota Farm Bureau kicked off Ag Week as they donated close to $1,500 worth of groceries to the Ronald McDonald House in Sioux Falls.
For close to 20 years this effort has been made possible by donations from SDFB members throughout South Dakota and is spearheaded by the SDFB Women’s Leadership Team.
“As farmers and ranchers we produce food for the world, and this is one way we can share and give back,” said Cindy Foster, SDFB Women’s Leadership Team Chair. “We consider it a privilege to assist the Ronald McDonald House in their mission of helping families who have children in the hospital.”
The SDFB Women’s Leadership Team raises the money through county Farm Bureaus throughout the state and uses it to buy groceries on the wish list provided by the Ronald McDonald House.
In addition to groceries, the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Sioux Falls receives a weekly delivery of fresh milk and eggs throughout the year thanks to the generosity of members of SDFB.
Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a home away from home to the families of sick or injured children near a hospital where their child is receiving care, serving families across South Dakota and the upper Midwest.
