Nesheim Farm LLC is a diversified agricultural enterprise that includes a predominantly SimAngus cow herd, a cattle finishing feedyard, and crop production consisting of corn, soybeans, and alfalfa. Their approach is centered on producing quality cattle while utilizing value-based marketing opportunities to maximize profitability.

Their operation features a slat-floor finishing barn, an uncommon facility for the area that plays an important role in their cattle feeding program. Through a combination of family involvement, diversified production, and a commitment to continuous improvement, Nesheim Farm LLC has built an operation focused on long-term success.

Niewenhuis Feedlot is permitted to feed up to 2,800 head and specializes in finishing commercial beef cattle, Wagyu, Akaushi, and other crossbred cattle. Niewenhuis Feedlot has developed a reputation for providing dependable, individualized care while building lasting relationships with its customers. In addition to the feedlot, the family raises miniature cattle, miniature donkeys, horses, exotic sheep, goats, and other hobby farm animals.

During the tour, guests will have the opportunity to compare Wagyu and Akaushi cattle alongside commercial beef cattle while also seeing many of the unique animals that are part of the operation. Niewenhuis Feedlot is a testament to the value of family, hard work, and continually adapting to meet new opportunities in the beef industry.

Scattered Star Ranch began as a herd of 120 cows and a hog operation, and has grown into a diversified business consisting of 400 commercial cows, 200 bred heifers, and an 800-head heifer development program. Along the way, the family created opportunities through raising embryo calves for registered seedstock producers, custom AI services, and beef semen sales with Genex. Their philosophy has remained the same: operate with honesty and integrity while providing customers with solutions that truly fit their needs.

They recently began developing a registered Angus herd from carefully selected embryos with the goal of producing high-quality herd bulls for use within their own commercial operation. Driven by innovation, diversification, and a passion for managing native prairie alongside productive cattle, Scattered Star Ranch continues to build a sustainable operation for future generations.

Professional Alliance, owned by Rudy and Lydia Niewenhuis, is committed to helping producers evaluate cost of production, improve livestock performance, and strengthen bottom-line profitability. Established in 1980, this family-owned business provides individualized livestock consulting services tailored to each producer's unique operation and goals.
