The Friend of Agriculture Award
The Friend of Agriculture Award is a high honor given for the purpose of strengthening relationships between ag producers and agri-business. Winners are nominated by County Farm Bureaus and up to two recipients will be chosen to be recognized at the annual South Dakota Farm Bureau Convention. A nominated individual or business should be one who has supported agricultural efforts in their community, either through youth activities, agriculture promotions, local issues or quality of rural life.
Nomination details:
- Nominations will be accepted, using the application found on the South Dakota Farm Bureau website by clicking Get Involved and County Farm Bureaus, through July 31, 2024.
- Considerations for nominations should include information on the following:
- Contribution to local agriculture
- Impact on local community
- Overall promotion of agriculture
- Recipients will be notified, and recognition videos will be produced to be played during the Saturday evening banquet at the South Dakota Farm Bureau Annual Convention.
- Each individual and/or business award recipient will receive two tickets to the Saturday evening banquet of the SDFB Annual Convention. Additional tickets may be purchased in advance from SDFB.
- 2024 Friends of Agriculture will be selected from nominations of individuals/businesses from west of the Missouri River. 2025 Friends of Agriculture will be selected from nominations of individuals/businesses from east of the Missouri River.
- Nominations should be submitted to the SDFB State Office at 2225 Dakota Ave S; Huron, SD 57350 or emailed to heather@sdfbf.org.
