Century Farm & Ranch

Century Farm & Ranch

Each year, South Dakota Farm Bureau and the South Dakota Department of Agriculture join together to recognize farms and ranches that have been in the same family for 100 years.

In addition to recognizing Century Farms, those that have been in the same family for 125 years are recognized as Quasquicentennial farms and those that have been in the same family for 150 years are recognized at Sesquicentennial farms.

Since the program began in 1984, 2,859 farm and ranch families have been honored.  The award presentation takes place each year at the South Dakota State Fair.
